This year I planted 8 basel plants but only 5 of them produced a lot of leaves. I try to freeze a lot of it so we have yummy basel all year long. You can make a lot of yummy snackage with basel -- gelato, sauces, chips, spreads ... it is a great ingredient. My Nanny loves basel for her gravy every Sunday. Today I am taking my yield and packing it up in little individual packets for her to put in her freezer. That way she has a little packet for each Sunday! Mooray!
