Green Hoof

My garden is starting to produce more. I can't wait to be able to post pictures of a huge, flourishing garden but I know it takes time. Hopefully we will  get some big rains so my garden grows and I can cowtribute yummy snackage to our dinners all summer long! This is a picture of the japanese eggplant I found this morning! Mooray!!!

Monday

Green Hoof Chronicles -- Fig-a-licious!

even though i live in FARMingdale, i love to work on my farm! it takes months of planning and hard work but the benefits are that you get super yummy food that you grew with your own hoof. you don't have to go anywhere to get it ... talk about reducing your cowbin hoofpring! my neighbor sue has a fig tree and said i could pick the ripe figs. i read up on the internet; i had never tasted a fig ... i pulled out my ladder and reaped my bounty. i sliced up the figs and took a bite. i won't lie -- it was scrum delish! i decided to make fig gelato -- my nan will love it! and i love to make ice cream!!!

Saturday

Baby Watermelon!

despite the rainy june, my garden is starting to surprise me with a bounty of snackage. we planted a watermelon tree this year. i am not sure when it will be ready to pick. every day i take out my ladder and climb up the metal fences to talk to my melon. it think it is mootivational. :) i hope it will be super sweet.
